I completed my third Friday at Wigan Book Cycle yesterday, so far, so good! I am enjoying all the instant feedback I am getting from clients who have allowed me to treat them to one of my 'Nurturing Massages' at the centre; everyone has been very receptive and extremely complimentary! I just love it. ; D I just came across a fascinating link with regards to Lomi Lomi, a Hawaiian Spiritual Massage that heals and releases trapped emotions, but it is quite a long read, so will only list the link here for you to visit the site:
http://www.lomilomi.com/history.htm In ancient Japan, a recently married young woman had, according to custom, moved into her husband's home where his parents also resided. After a while she visited a Buddhist monk, and, with tears in her eyes, expressed her frustration with her mother-in-law who was constantly bullying her. She was so desperate that she asked the monk to teach her a way by which she could gradually kill her mother- in-law without arousing any suspicion. The monk replied that he knew the perfect way for her to achieve her aim, and set about teaching her a form of massage through which she could gradually kill the old woman. A few weeks later the same young woman returned to the monk in a state of great agitation. The monk inquired whether his method was working, and the woman immediately begged him to show her how to undo the harm that she might have done. The monk feigned surprise and asked what had brought about this change of heart and mind. She answered that, after a few weeks of regularly massaging her mother-in-law in the way that he had taught her, she had grown very fond of her and now they both loved each other very much. The monk then smilingly explained that it had never been his intention to show her a way to hurt anybody, quite the contrary. He had taught her massage to bring them both together, thus creating love and harmony in her family life. I was researching on line for any information as to the origins of massage and the myths that may surround it...I found this short story and thought it very sweet...hope you like it too! <3 What do you think YOU deserve? Many men and women accept a lot less from other people because they don't feel they are special. Make it your lesson in life to accept whatever changes come to you and always EXPECT the best from your relationships. And if they don't measure up? Well, they know how to open a door don't they? Show them where it is, and ask them to leave. <3 Today, my daughter Lucy (who is 18 on Sunday) decided she wanted to change her natural dark brunette hair colour to a dark blonde. Tonight, complete with thin surgical gloves, I have been colouring her hair for her...she is now a "dark golden ash blonde", even her eyebrows(!) But, I can not claim to be innocent in the "dyeing game", since the age of 15 I have been experimenting with one colour or another, that is until last summer when I decided to let my natural dark blonde/light brown hair colour grow, complete with what I affectionately call, "my silver highlights"(!) I am still not sure if I like it yet, but I am determined to leave my hair be, at least until the summer...I have even allowed my curls to remain(!) ; 'D xx |
