Books
The Wind-up Bird Chronicle (1994), Haruki Murakami.
I started to read this book last week (May 2013) and was unsure at first if it would be able to keep my interest. Am glad to say that it has, still in the early stages though.
The novel is about a low-key unemployed man, Toru Okada, whose cat runs away. A chain of events follows that prove that his seemingly mundane life is much more complicated than it appears.
Isn't that so.

Marianna (2009), Susanna Kearsley.
I only finished reading this last week (May 2013) and enjoyed it for its subject matter and the fact it was a very easy book to read.
In Mariana, Julia Beckett moves from London to Greywethers, a house in the country that has seemingly called out to her for years. She begins having "flashbacks" of sorts, to when she was Mariana Farr, a young woman living during the Restoration. Not only does Julia live the life of her predecessor, she actually is Mariana, feeling her feelings and thinking her thoughts.

The Ultimate Holistic Health Book (2004), Dr Deborah McManners.
This is the book I started to read last month (Feb 2013) and I am finding it really helpful. It doesn't patronise and is full of good, clear common sense. McManners is a medical doctor and registered naturopath and in the book she presents an amazing new way to build up your own health profile and assess any physical, psychological, nutritional and environmental imbalances.

The Accidental Vegetarian (2004), Simon Rimmer.
I picked up this book from my local town centre Wigan Life Library and find it so easy to follow and adapt to. Simon Rimmer will be at Haigh Hall, Wigan during the next week or so (until March 10th, 2013) for the Wigan Food & Drink Festival.
"The Wigan Food and Drink Festival is back for 2013 and this year we are celebrating the culinary traditions and foods of Lancashire. Look out for themed demonstrations with high profile chefs such as Lancashire’s own Nigel Haworth, tastings, restaurant offers and talks.
We are also celebrating Wigan’s own culinary heritage. Yes, that’s right, pies! TV chef and restaurateur Simon Rimmer will be hosting celebration dinner at Haigh Hall.
The food and drink festival takes place from 28th February until 10th March with venues across the borough getting involved."

Women Who Think Too Much (2003), Dr Susan Nolen-Hoeksema.
This book was a recent Christmas (2012) gift to me from a friend who obviously thinks I have a problem(!) It is the book I am presently reading, just a few pages every day.
How many of you out there have this same "problem"? ; )
So far, I have read to page 18, so I still have a long, long way to go before I work out where I am going wrong(!)
There is a short questionaire in the book on page 13 which helps you to decide if you are an overthinker that I found insightful, which I have posted on my blog page for you to read if you are interested...be truthful! <3
The Rose Garden (2011), Susanna Kearsley.
This book had all the elements that I have a passion for...Cornwall, California, secrets, time travel, historical houses, roses and..love.
I bought it as a paperback in November last year.. I always buy paperbacks, I just prefer how they feel.. and finished reading it on 5th January this month. I wouldn't say it would be to everybody's taste, but it was a good book to relax with and to escape to for a few moments every day.
The book I started to read after finishing The Rose Garden, has a title that will make you smile.. it was bought for me as a Christmas gift by a friend because I Am! what this book is all about.. but I'll tell you about that book another day soon ; ')
I love to read.. it is how I relax, I would love to hear your comments about the books you are reading also, so please feel free to leave your comments on my blog, or actual comments page <3
