About Me
Hi, I'm Suzana and I started Instant Calma because I felt there was a need for an unconventional approach to providing massage treatment. I want to convey to the public at large, just how beneficial a weekly, fortnightly or monthly massage is to the human body. I practise Seated Acupressure Therapy (SAT) outside of the usual salons and spas, with just the use of an ordinary chair for the client to sit on and a table for them to place their hands and arms upon. No clothes are removed and no oils are used, and I venture out into very public areas, such as the workplace, community centres, shopping centres, homes, and also out into the open! My Seated Acupressure Therapy (SAT) lies somewhere between physiotherapy and a gentle, but effective 'needs-based' caring, nurturing touch. Who hasn't loved having their shoulders massaged(?!) There are reasons you will always go back to the same person...trust, quality and enjoyment. When you have to sit all day behind a desk at work, or stand on your feet for 8 hours or more, your body physically drained of energy from the stress and strain it has had to endure on a daily basis, being able to have a blissful therapeutic 10, 20, or 40 minutes of Nurturing Massage devoted entirely to you, can make you feel wonderful and able to reconnect with the person you really are:
The one you were before all your responsibilites got in the way.
I am also a trained professional photographer, but found that I was always the person on the outside, looking in, watching others enjoying living in the moment and I started to feel taking photographs just wasn't enough for me any more (I just didn't feel fulfilled), so I became trained in Seated Acupressure Therapy (SAT), as it is something very close to my heart and mind. I believe that this form of massage really does make a difference to the stress levels in the human body.
With Instant Calma, when I treat a client to a Nurturing Massage, I also benefit, as I too feel refreshed and energised and I am able to truly connect with the person I am massaging. It makes me feel alive and happy to be able to help someone else feel good. I like to take my nurturing massage technique into environments where people are not used to seeing treatments, and I have been overwhelmed with positive feedback from clients. People watching my massage technique have commented that even when just watching me massage another person, they have been hypnotised by my movements and actually felt like they too have received a massage! I have developed my own personal style that also involves a form of "cleansing", which is my "drawing out anything negative within the body that may be creating stress" and though mainly a gentle symbolic gesture by myself, it has proven most effective to clients stress recovery.
I hope I have piqued your curiosity enough for you to want to find out more about what I do and allow me to take you with me on my "learning curve of a journey" into the world of Nurturing Therapies with Instant Calma, and let a little love go a long way...
